Ocean Village is a cruise company that offers cruises “for people who don’t do cruises”. Traditional cruises may seem overly planned, rigid or formal – something that just does not fit every personality. Ocean Village is much more about the free form, relaxing, do whatever you want whenever you want style.
The big thing this summer seems to be the Mediterranean Cruises. The 7 night cruises can be had for around £1,000 with airfare; under £800.00 without. Those that book online – UK only – receive a 5% discount.
There is a comprehensive list of the things that are and are not included in the trips. All of the standard things are covered such as food, room, onboard activities (acrobatics, tribute bands, stand-up comedians, quizzes, etc.). An unusual one is that the tax and transfer fees are also included in the price. The things that aren’t included are to be expected, including visa fees, transportation to and from the airport/home, trips to the spa, drinks, dinner in the premier restaurant, and medical coverage.
While all of this sounds great, there is nothing to compare to the last minute deals. One shows a cruise on the Med for a family of 4 (2 adults/2 kids) for £545pp. A 7 night trip coming up in October – aptly named Tapas and Togas – goes for £635. The original full was £1,416. Over the course of the trip, passengers can visit six different destinations.
If all of that didn’t tempt you, check out the video cams and virtual tours. Pack your bags first!
