Queensland, Australia is a vast territory made up of some of the most famous of the Australian vacation destinations. The Great Barrier Reef, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Whitsundays, Fraser Coast, Central Queensland, Outback Queensland … these are just a sampling of some of the destinations that await you in this northeast-coast section of Australia.
Brisbane itself is a haven for travellers. The nearby islands and clear waters of Moreton Bay allow you to fish, boat, feed dolphins, and enjoy all things nautical, or you can enjoy a stroll through the city’s Botanic Gardens. Browse the various boutiques and cafes that dot the landscape, or take a trip outside the city limits to visit some of the world’s tallest sand dunes.
Visit Sea World on the Gold Coast, or see koalas in the coastal rainforest of Noosa National Park along the Sunshine Coast. Hike through the rainforests of Kondalilla National Park, or take the time to visit the Great Barrier Reef, arguably one of the most famous places in the world for snorkelling and scuba diving.
Or head on into the centre of Queensland to Rockhampton, Australia’s capital of beef. You will be hard-pressed to find a better steak anywhere on the globe than here. And while you are getting back to the basics, enjoy a four-wheel drive across the famous Outback trails like Plenty Highway or Birdsville Track.
Queensland is the perfect representation of the diversity that makes up Australia. The range of geographical changes within this region, as well as the variety of destinations, gives any traveller a taste of what they are looking for. Accommodation and travel are easily resolved, from luxury hotels to farm-house vacations, and you can rent vehicles from every major city along your way.
